Job Description :

Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role :

Platform Administration:

• Manage and maintain the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) to support containerized application deployments.
• Monitor and optimize Kubernetes-based workloads and ensure efficient resource allocation.
• Troubleshoot OCP cluster issues, including pods, nodes, and network configurations.

Web Server Administration:

• Configure, maintain, and optimize Apache web servers for high performance and availability.
• Implement SSL/TLS certificates, load balancing, and virtual hosts on Apache servers.

Java Log Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

• Analyze and resolve issues in Java-based applications by reviewing logs (e.g., stack traces, performance bottlenecks).
• Set up and maintain centralized logging solutions (e.g., ELK Stack, Splunk, or Fluentd) for efficient log management.

Backend Systems Administration:

• Perform routine maintenance and updates for backend systems, ensuring high availability and security.
• Monitor and optimize application performance in staging, testing, and production environments.
• Implement disaster recovery and backup strategies for critical backend systems.

Performance & Optimization:

• Conduct performance tuning for web and application servers, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
• Monitor infrastructure health and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime.

Security & Compliance:

• Apply security patches and updates to all managed systems.
• Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards for data protection and security.

Collaboration & Support:

• Collaborate with development teams to support application deployments and resolve issues.
• Provide Level 2/3 support for application and infrastructure-related incidents.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Technical Expertise:

Red Hat OpenShift (OCP):

• Proficient in managing and troubleshooting OpenShift clusters.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm charts, and container orchestration.

Web Servers:

• Advanced knowledge of Apache HTTP Server configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Nginx as a reverse proxy or load balancer (optional).

Log Analysis & Monitoring:

• Experience analyzing Java logs (e.g., GC logs, application errors) to troubleshoot issues.
• Hands-on experience with centralized logging tools (ELK Stack, Graylog, or Splunk).

Backend Systems:

• Proficient in Linux/Unix system administration, including shell scripting for automation.
• Knowledge of databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and their integration with applications.

Security:

• Strong understanding of web server security (SSL/TLS, firewalls).
• Experience with vulnerability scanning and remediation.

DevOps Knowledge (Preferred):

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD.
• Basic understanding of containerization with Docker.
