We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with expertise in architecting, building, and managing cloud-native infrastructure for geographically distributed, event-driven systems that process high volumes of real-time events.
In this role, you will take a hands-on technical leadership approach to designing and optimizing a highly available, fault-tolerant infrastructure that supports large-scale microservices and event-driven workloads. You will collaborate closely with backend engineers working in a Go-based stack and system architects to ensure scalability, security, and operational efficiency across multiple cloud environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design and architect scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant Kubernetes infrastructure across multiple geographic regions.
- Build cloud-agnostic, self-hosted Kubernetes environments optimized for real-time, high-throughput event processing.
- Develop resilient, distributed systems capable of dynamic scaling based on workloads.
- Optimize data streaming pipelines and manage Kafka clusters for performance, reliability, and security.
- Implement GitOps workflows and automate deployments, rollbacks, and infrastructure updates using Terraform/OpenTofu.
- Deploy and manage relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and non-relational (MongoDB, Redis) databases within Kubernetes.
- Ensure automated infrastructure scaling aligned with real-time demands for resource and cost efficiency.
- Establish comprehensive observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and OpenTelemetry for monitoring, logging, and tracing.
- Enhance security through RBAC, OPA/Gatekeeper, secrets management, and network access control.
- Optimize network traffic management using NGINX Ingress Controller and Service Mesh (Istio, Linkerd, Consul), and proactively troubleshoot system performance in a Linux-based Kubernetes environment.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience designing and implementing Kubernetes infrastructure for large-scale, event-driven systems.
- Expertise in Kubernetes orchestration, including security, networking, and scaling strategies.
- Deep knowledge of Kafka, including real-time data streaming, topic management, and high-throughput optimization.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience with Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Hands-on experience with GitOps tools (e.g., Flux, ArgoCD) and automated CI/CD deployments for Kubernetes.
- Advanced Linux system administration, networking, performance tuning, and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in Helm for packaging and deploying Kubernetes applications.
- Experience managing ingress traffic using NGINX Ingress Controller.
- Understanding of Service Mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd, Consul) for networking and security.
- Familiarity with observability tools, including Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and the ELK stack.
- Strong knowledge of security best practices, including RBAC, OPA/Gatekeeper, secrets management, and network segmentation.
- Ability to collaborate with Go-based backend teams to optimize infrastructure automation and performance.
