AI/ML LEAD

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for an AI/ML Lead for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Ukraine. Our client is a software development company that specializes in providing end-to-end services, which means that they deliver every part of the solution from the data layer through the web and mobile apps to the DevOps and hosting area. The services focus on cloud transformation, custom software development, and scalable system architectures. The company supports industries such as healthcare and automation, contributing to projects like AWS migrations for AI platforms in compliance-sensitive sectors and innovative robotics automation applications. The company has offices in Hungary and the United States, demonstrating a strong presence in global software development.

You will be part of the unique Data and AI service lines, explicitly focusing on delivering data engineering and AI solutions across various projects. Furthermore, you will lead a team of 2-3 engineers who will concentrate on designing and implementing AI solutions, Python-based data-processing services, and ETL pipelines. You can work in various fields, such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs), recommendation systems, conversational AI, chatbots, vector databases, and other API-based process automation projects. Leveraging your Python data engineer expertise, you can develop ETL pipelines and other data manipulation services and contribute to data and AI architectures.

It’s a 3-month engagement with the possibility of extension.

Requirements

Multiple years of experience developing data or AI solutions, preferably in an AWS cloud environment.
Experience with the following technologies: SageMaker, Bedrock, Glue, MWAA, EMR, RDS, Aurora, S3, OpenSearch, Elasticsearch.
Strong knowledge of Python and experience with relevant frameworks and libraries, such as Pandas, PySpark, NumPy, scikit-learn, Matplotlib, etc.
Knowledge of SQL.
Knowledge of some cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.
Understanding AI tools and concepts like LLMs, ChatGPT, RAG, etc.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of 2-3 AI and cloud engineers focused on fast prototyping AI/ML solutions in the AWS cloud.
Provide mentoring and technical support to junior and medium teammates.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients.
Develop highly scalable services, realizing AI/ML functionalities (e.g., NLP, ML, and AI models).
Implement various machine learning solutions addressing computer vision and NLP use cases.
Work with Large Language Models (LLMs) and perform prompt engineering tasks.
Design and implement data transformation services for various use cases, such as automatic translation and transcription, Text2SQL, and intent and gesture recognition.
Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines for extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various sources.
Implement AI/ML solutions (e.g., Bedrock, Sagemaker, Lambda, Textract) using the AWS cloud.
Comprehend customers’ business problems and provide technology consulting to identify the best-fit solution.
Own the end-to-end solution as a key decision-maker and drive the delivery team.
Describe infrastructures using Terraform (Terragrunt) or AWS CloudFormation.
Design, build,d, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in multiple integration and test environments
Stay up-to-date with the AWS innovations and achieve Professional/Specialty level certifications based on personal interest.
Contribute to the AWS Competency and Service Delivery Program to support the company’s AWS Partner journey.
