R&D unit in KTI is responsible for developing digital services at KONE. It’s the development engine for our Digital Services such as KONE 24/7 Connected Services, Office Flow and Partnership Ecosystem.

Junior / Senior / Lead Software Development Engineer

Are you ready to help shape the future of smart user interfaces and redefine how people interact with elevators? Join our innovative team at KONE’s largest R&D hub in Hyvinkää where we’re developing next-generation UI solutions for embedded devices using Qt in an embedded Linux environment.

Our agile team thrives on collaboration and creativity — we hold daily scrums, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives, and refinements to ensure continuous progress and improvement.

As a Software Development Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing and implementing the core software that powers the platforms behind our future UI devices. You’ll work closely with hardware engineers, testers, and UX designers — together, we’re building the future of elevator experiences.

The role is located at KONE’s biggest R&D in Hyvinkää, Finland. We offer flexible working time and remote working opportunities.

The final job title (Junior, Senior, or Lead Software Development Engineer) will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.

What You’ll Bring:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent)
• Proven experience in embedded device software development
• Solid background in C++, with additional skills in C and Python
• Hands-on experience with Qt and QML
• Familiarity with Git and version control systems
• Understanding of Robot Framework, Squish, and Jenkins
• Strong interest in usability and user-centric design
• Knowledge of embedded Linux systems
• Comfortable working in an agile development environment
• Fluent in English
