Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Engineer in Berlin (hybrid) to join our dynamic team. As a senior team member, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services for our platform. You’ll play a critical role in shaping our backend infrastructure and ensuring seamless integration with frontend and third-party services.

This role centers around a new API product. While it will leverage existing utility and platform services, the emphasis is on building its own processes and logic from the ground up - bringing our current offering into the B2B API space. You'll have the opportunity to shape the product’s architecture, apply modern design principles and develop a clean, robust API from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement MVP for the new product in close collaboration with the product counter-part, ensuring best practices in scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, and conduct peer code reviews.
• Work closely with peer engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality products.
• Maintain the soundness of the API, making it a best-in-class integration experience for our customers.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and improve system reliability.
• Enhance development workflows, including continuous integration, deployment pipelines, and automated testing.

Skills And Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software development experience, with a strong knowledge of Go.
• Nice to have: experience or interest in TypeScript.
• Strong experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Experience with SaaS products, with a focus on high level of auditability, logging, access management and multitenancy.
• Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker), orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• High interest in blockchain technology is a plus.
• High interest in the financial industry is a plus.
• Team spirit, strong communication skills to collaborate with various team members from different nationalities.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks
