Head of DevOps

Location: Germany (on-site only)

Rate: €800-€1,000 per day

We're looking for an experienced Head of DevOps (Contract) to lead our infrastructure and platform operations during a critical phase of scaling. This is a high-impact contract opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise and a passion for solving complex challenges across cloud environments and deployment workflows.

• 
  Take ownership of the full DevOps lifecycle - from infrastructure design to deployment and monitoring
• 
  Lead a DevOps team of 20+ engineers, including managers, with a focus on delivery and quality
• 
  Manage and optimise infrastructure on AWS and Azure
• 
  Collaborate with backend and frontend teams using Java (Spring Boot) and AngularJS/Angular
• 
  Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines, automation, and platform tooling
• 
  Establish scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure practices
• 
  Stay hands-on when needed and act as a trusted technical advisor across teams
  
  

• 
  Proven track record as a DevOps engineer, architect, or team lead, ideally with contract/freelance experience

• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), containerisation, and deployment pipelines.
• 
  Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and modern DevOps tools.
• 
  Strong background in managing teams (20+) and others managers.
• 
  Solution-oriented mindset - excited by complexity and responsibility
• 
  Ability to hit the ground running and lead with minimal onboarding
