๐Ÿš€ The Role

This position offers an unique opportunity to shape a new mobile game from its early prototyping stages within an agile start up environment. You will become part of a very small core team working together to bring the creative vision to life.


As one of our first Game Programmers, you'll have the rare opportunity to pioneer innovative gameplay systems for mobile and cross-platform gaming, and make significant impact on a new company from its earliest stages!


๐Ÿ’ผ Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the founder to shape the direction of the gameplay
  • Prototype, iterate, and create engaging player experiences
  • Build gameplay systems, player interactions, and UI features using Unreal Engine 5
  • Work flexibly between Unreal blueprints and C++
  • Write clean and scalable C++ code, with an understanding of how to optimize for different platforms, or a willingness to learn mobile-specific optimizations
  • Build and extend core game systems in a modular way that can be adapted for single or multiplayer experiences
  • Share knowledge of your Unreal and C++ expertise and best practices with the engine


๐Ÿ”ง Who We Are Looking For

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • 3+ years experience in professional software development, preferably having contributed to at least one shipped game
  • Experience with C++ programming
  • Familiarity with game engines and a willingness to learn Unreal (previous experience with Unreal is a big plus!)
  • Ability to break down features into tasks and work independently
  • Ability to think outside the box and adapt gameplay systems across different platforms
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid changes in priorities


๐Ÿฆ Nice to Have

  • Experience in Unreal Engine and utilizing both blueprints and C++ to build gameplay systems
  • Experience shipping mobile, multiplayer, cross platform or live service games
  • Experience debugging mobile or platform-specific issues, and/or have familiarity with Swift (iOS) or Java (Android)
  • Experience with or interest in graphics programming
