Location: Fully remote initially. Candidates should be based in Europe.

Our company is growing, and we are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology vision as we continue our expansion in the Nordic and Baltic regions and beyond.

Job Summary:

As the CTO, you will lead Bargn's technology strategy, infrastructure, and development efforts. This role will initially be without a salary and compensated through shares in the company, with a competitive compensation package to follow after the platform launch and generation of revenue. You will receive an equity stake in the company with specific details to be discussed during the interview process. Cultural fit is extremely important to us, as we are building a team that shares our vision and values. This is a unique opportunity to join Bargn in its early stages and shape the future of our cutting-edge platform. After completing a six-month probationary period, the title will be elevated to CTO and Co-Founder. You will be the technical backbone of the organization, taking full ownership of our technology stack, and app architecture, and ensuring scalability to accommodate rapid growth to over 100 million users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take on the challenge of scaling our platform from early stages to millions of users, overcoming technical hurdles along the way.
• Define key milestones and expected outcomes for the first 6 months, such as building a technical team and finalizing product development.
• Collaborate with team members across product, marketing, and sales to align technology initiatives with overall company objectives.
• Foster a positive, collaborative culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
• Take on the challenge of scaling our platform from early stages to millions of users, overcoming technical hurdles along the way.
• Develop and execute Bargn's technology strategy in alignment with business goals.
• Lead and manage the end-to-end development process, including system architecture, software development, data integration, and cloud infrastructure.
• Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of the platform to support growth to 100 million users.
• Oversee all technical integrations, ensuring smooth collaboration with third-party partners.
• Establish code quality standards and review processes to maintain high-quality software development.
• Manage and evaluate code, ensuring best practices are followed and high-quality outputs are delivered.
• Directly supervise a team of in-house and outsourced developers to achieve project milestones.
• Work closely with the product, marketing, and sales teams to align technical development with business needs.
• Ensure GDPR compliance and maintain strong data security standards across all systems.
• Take responsibility for budget planning and management for all technology-related projects and infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain a roadmap for the evolution of the product, incorporating new features and technologies.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to the development team to foster growth and technical excellence.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a CTO or in a similar technical leadership role in a startup or growth-stage company.
• Expertise in designing and developing scalable and reliable software systems, ideally for B2C applications.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and experience with mobile application development using technologies like Kotlin, Swift, or Flutter.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure). Experience with database management technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases, as well as CI/CD tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitLab.
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Strong people skills, including team building, mentorship, and the ability to create a positive work culture.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships across the company.
• Experience managing and implementing third-party integrations, APIs, and partnerships.
• Strong knowledge of data management, security best practices, GDPR, and IT infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams and managing technology budgets effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with AI technologies, data modeling, and machine learning is a plus.
