Industrial/Product Designer

Takomo is seeking a creative and forward-thinking Industrial/Product Designer for their first full-time in-house product development role. In this position, you will have the opportunity to design and develop top-quality golf clubs, driving innovation and shaping the future of Takomo’s product line.

Basic information

• Location: Ajurinkatu 2, Turku
• Remote work: Hybrid model, you have the option to work remotely 2-3 days per week
• Travelling: A few global trips per year
• Permanent, full-time role
• Starting date: Flexible, as per agreement

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of new products, and collaborating with both the internal team and factory R&D departments. This includes refining products currently in development and expanding the product portfolio over the next years. You will focus primarily on golf club design, but may also work on soft goods, for example golf bags. CAD has been the main design tool, but tools can be chosen based on your expertise.

You will gather performance data for golf clubs and stay informed about new materials from factories, ensuring future products are optimized with cutting-edge technologies. This combination of design, collaboration, and innovation will position you as a key contributor to the company's growing product portfolio. Your working time is divided within design work, internal collaboration with marketing and production teams (for tasks such as creating 3D renderings, illustrations, or explaining technical information) as well as communicating with factories to coordinate and guide the design process.

Knowledge

The right candidate has:

• 3+ years of experience in industrial design (the manufacturing methods are casting and forging)
• Strong CAD-skills
• Understanding of different materials
• Golf knowledge, either from personal experience or working in the golf industry
• Proficiency in English

It is beneficial to also have:

• Graphic design skills
• Experience working directly with factories
• Potentiality to develop, take responsibility and grow within the company in the future
• Finnish and Chinese language skills
