Job Overview

As an Internal Controller specializing in AML/KYC compliance, you will oversee and enhance the exchange’s internal control framework to ensure adherence to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations. Your role will mitigate financial crime risks and safeguard the platform’s compliance with global and local regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• AML/KYC Control Framework:

a) Design, implement, and monitor AML/KYC policies for crypto transactions, ensuring alignment with FATF recommendations (e.g., Travel Rule, Risk-Based Approach) and APAC regulatory requirements

b) Conduct gap analyses of KYC processes (e.g., identity verification, risk scoring, ongoing monitoring) and propose automation enhancements

• Transaction Monitoring & Risk Mitigation:

a) Review and investigate suspicious activity (e.g., cross-chain transfers, mixing services) to ensure compliance with APAC reporting thresholds.

b) Leverage blockchain analytics tools (Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRM Labs) to trace high-risk wallets, refine risk rules, and optimize the Transaction Monitoring System (TMS).

c) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline alert reviews and reporting workflows.

• Compliance Audits & Reporting:

a) Lead internal audits and support external regulatory inspections, ensuring documentation meets APAC regulators’ standards.

b) Prepare audit findings and remediation plans for senior management.

• System & Process Optimization:

a) Collaborate with tech teams to enhance excited KYC and transaction monitoring systems.

b) Update internal policies to reflect evolving regulatory expectations.

• Training & Collaboration:

a) Deliver AML/KYC training to operational teams (e.g., customer support, onboarding).

b) Partner with IT, and Data teams to operationalize compliance measures.
