Front-end Developer- SPECTRA

GHGSat offers greenhouse gas detection, measurement, and monitoring services to industrial and government customers around the world. The company uses its own satellites and aircraft sensors, combined with third-party data to help industrial emitters better understand, control, and reduce their emissions. SPECTRA delivers insights through a map-based web application and API that allows customers to visualize, list, and export emissions data.

The SPECTRA team is looking for an innovative and enthusiastic Frontend Developer, keen to contribute to global emissions monitoring and reduction. Our code is built with React, TypeScript, Redux, and CSS, but we don't need you to be an expert in these tools - it's more important that you are motivated, great at communicating, excited to learn and apply your talent to our field.

What you will do:

• Engage actively in UI/UX design iterations (concepts, wireframes, user stories)
• Collaborate with other teams in Design, Product, Customer success and Engineering to build and ship new features
• Keep SPECTRA running by fixing bugs, writing tests, and making suggestions for improvements
• Engage with our Agile process, ship changes fast, listen to feedback from stakeholders
• Periodically provide compensated support outside normal working hours
  
  
  

Requirements

What you bring:

• Experience with a modern frontend framework (e.g. React, Vue, Angular, Svelte)
• Ability to design maintainable, scalable, and testable solutions
• Experience interfacing with a backend (REST API)
• Ability to bridge the gap between UX design (Figma) and frontend code (Typescript, HTML, CSS)
• Familiarity with Software Development fundamentals
• Good team-work ability and a collaborative nature
• Ability to work autonomously, with minimum direction
• A degree or diploma in Computer Science (or a related field), or equivalent hands-on experience
