Reporting to the Service Operations Manager, this position provides an excellent opportunity to enhance professional growth and development within an expanding service business department. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading a team who own the end-to-end process for all non-contract work enquiries, including the development of customized technical solutions and quotation processes tailored to meet the needs of our customers.

The main remit of the role will encompass the following duties:


  • Provide technical support for all non-contract enquiries, supporting the sales team in defining customer needs and compiling suitable technical solutions.
  • Attend pre-sales calls with clients and customers to gain a good understanding of modification requirements with the aim to make this process as efficient as possible.
  • Where necessary, attend in-person at client site to discuss/clearly define proposed modification works.
  • Attendance at internal project meetings with CAD, Copper works, production etc to ensure that technical proposals are achievable/follow best practice.
  • Set-up and manage internal discussions with project delivery team to ensure technical alignment with site mod proposals.
  • Provide the sales team with technical scope/requirements and provide a suitable bill of materials and labour estimations to support accurate site mod quotations.
  • Review all non-contract sales quotations for technical correctness prior to issue to customer.
  • Support the project delivery team in delivering all non-contract projects taking the lead in escalating any issues with production or manufacturing that could cause delays.
  • Overall financial responsibility for all non-contract projects, ensuring all projects are completed within an agreed timescale and within planned delivery margins.
  • Responsibility for control and management of any non-contract documentation/tools – Quote templates, pricing tools, handover packages, Scopes of Work etc.
  • Responsibility for maintaining adequate tracking system to ensure all live projects are properly monitored.
  • Direct line management responsibility for non-contract personnel.


The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Have excellent technical knowledge of LV switchgear.
  • Have excellent knowledge of engineering technical drawings.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Be a self-starter, highly motivated individual who takes ownership for their role.
  • Be an efficient organiser and be able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Prioritise workload to meet Customer/Client expectations.
  • Display a proactive flexible approach to working within a team environment.
  • Display attention to detail.
  • Be prepared to travel as and when required as part of your role.
  • Be prepared to work in a busy office environment (full-time office-based role).


Desirable Criteria

  • Past experience of working in a service environment.
  • Past experience in managing a team.
