Data Analyst

My Westmeath based client is currently recruiting for a Data Analyst coming from a Financial Services / Insurance back ground to join a growing team. This is a permanent role with a requirement of 4 days onsite. The Data Analyst will be working in areas such as Big Data, Machine Learning and AI. You will work at the forefront of Data Analytics development, using the latest technologies and tools to build for their ground breaking solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Transform data into meaningful information and actionable insight.
• Use a variety of tools and query methods to analyse data and identify opportunities and solutions.
• Act as a link between data engineering and visualisation teams to maximise the use and accessibility of data across the business.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Enhance automated reporting with added insight that drives action and business value.
• Support a culture shift towards data-informed decision making.
• Help design and embed strong data management and reporting standards.
• Contribute to data governance practices and ensure consistent application of analytics methodologies.
• Develop and promote standardised approaches to data use and interpretation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data analysis and reporting.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying, mining, and segmenting data.
• Strong quantitative analysis skills with experience deriving insights from data.
• At least 2 years of experience with tools such as R or Python.
• Good understanding of database structures and data architecture.
• Familiarity with BI strategies and their application in a business setting.
• Experience with tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
• Experience in financial services; insurance sector experience is a strong advantage.
