For the Central Team of Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C), we are looking for a Data Science Analyst to join our Insurance Department. Reporting to the Head of Technical Excellence, this position is key to leveraging data insights for comprehensive technical analysis, pricing strategies, and effective portfolio management. With a dynamic, cross-functional approach, the role includes demanding data integration across key domains such as Underwriting, Risk Engineering, and Claims, thereby contributing significantly to the company's strategic objectives. In addition, you will contribute to the development of the sustainability agenda of GC&C, working on carbon emission, green energy, and climate change initiatives.


Main responsibilities:


Portfolio Management

  • Supporting the analysis of the overall GC&C portfolio results, trends and patterns;
  • Designing and deploying the portfolio management discipline;
  • Implementing the portfolio monitoring tools;
  • Assisting BU in the target setting and supporting BU in achieving targets;
  • Performing data quality checks at all stages of portfolio management;
  • Preparation and steering of Portfolio review meetings;
  • Assisting UW functions in steering the business accordingly.

Innovation

  • Working collaboratively on pioneering new actuarial tools, integrating Machine Learning algorithms to enhance predictive capabilities;
  • Actively participate in defining business requirements to evolve the TechEx technology stack, in partnership with Operations;
  • Facilitate training sessions for the GC&C underwriting community on the TechEx tool suite, promoting skill enhancement and tool.

Sustainability and Net Zero Transition

  • Driving forward GC&C sustainability initiatives also in collaboration with Group Head Office;
  • Contributing to the development of a technical framework to embed Net Zero targets into GC&C underwriting strategy.


Requirements

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:


  • Studied Actuarial Science, Mathematics or Statistics or other quantitative disciplines, e.g. Engineering, Physics etc.
  • Quantitative, analytical mindset, problem solving skills
  • Insurance business processes knowledge experience is welcome
  • Ability to build lasting relationships
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with Python and R is valued
  • Must be fluent in Italian, English, additional languages are an advantage
