About Breeze

Breeze is the dating app designed for dates: we've built the world's first service that organizes actual offline dates at scale. At Breeze, we skip the online mating dance: once you have a match on Breeze, you fill in a date picker and go on a date at one of our partnered bars – without chatting beforehand.

So far we've organized over 200.000 dates, have over >650k downloads, and are available in The Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France and the UK – with many more markets to come soon.

About The Role

As a Principal Backend Engineer at Breeze, you’ll lead the development of a scalable and secure backend in Golang that supports our rapidly growing platform. You’ll work closely with the other developers to design and implement seamless APIs, while optimizing our systems to ensure high performance, stability, and data protection. In addition to writing clean and efficient Golang code, you’ll guide the team in maintaining a healthy codebase by addressing technical debt and ensuring backend systems are aligned with business objectives.

Concretely, You Would

• Uphold backend system stability and scalability: Monitor and enhance the performance of backend services, ensuring they are scalable, robust, and capable of handling increasing user traffic. Implement tests and monitoring systems to track performance and API uptime.
• Manage and optimize the product’s backend development: Lead the backend development efforts, consistently delivering maintainable and efficient code. Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure a seamless integration between frontend and backend systems.
• Drive technical innovation and improvement: Identify areas for improvement in our backend architecture, propose innovative solutions, and stay ahead of industry trends to ensure we’re using the latest technologies for optimal performance.
• Ensure system security and compliance: Implement best practices to secure user data, maintain GDPR compliance, and regularly audit systems for vulnerabilities to prevent breaches.
• Contribute to technical strategy: Align the technical roadmap with business goals, participating in strategic discussions and providing insights into technical risks, opportunities, and resource needs.

💰 Competitive Salary: Between €5.500 and €7.500 on a full-time basis per month (gross), depending on your experience.
