The product:

Founded in 2009, the company has successfully operated an IoT product in the Aquaculture industry and spotted a huge opportunity to apply the IoT platform to building automation, HVAC and industrial use cases. They now have 2,500+ buildings operating the product, with daily requests for more!

Using edge computing, time-series graph data, machine learning, knowledge graphs and relatively simple hardware users are able to visualise, predict and monitor energy usage in a broad range of complex use cases.

The role:

We are now expanding the team (currently 15 local developers) with a senior backend engineer, working to scale the cloud platform to facilitate millions of api requests daily.

We hope to find someone with an 'engineering mindset', fairly broad technical experience and a strong team mentality. The team faces a range of technical tasks and challenges and must work together to decide upon best tools for the best solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement microservices using Python and Go.
• Build and maintain cloud-native applications on Kubernetes.
• Develop scalable data pipelines for time-series and graph data.
• Contribute to system architecture decisions.
• Lead the implementation of cloud infrastructure best practices.
• Collaborate with the data science team on analytics pipeline integration.
• Mentor junior developers in cloud-native development.

Skills & Experience:

• Expertise in Python and/or Go programming.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native architectures.
• Proficiency in microservices and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of time-series databases and graph databases.
• Proven ability to design scalable cloud architectures.
• Strong DevOps mindset and infrastructure-as-code experience.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Fluency in English (required).
