Senior Go Engineer - Payment Gateway Solutions

Your impact: You will be involved in creating a secure and efficient digital system that facilitates online transactions by connecting e-commerce websites or mobile applications with financial institutions, allowing for the seamless transfer of funds between customers and merchants. You will be integrating various payment methods, such as credit cards, digital wallets, and alternative payment options, to offer customers a convenient and flexible payment experience, ultimately enabling businesses to securely accept payments online and manage their financial transactions effectively.

We are an agile, horizontal team within a larger holding company, focused on developing cutting-edge payment gateway solutions and other fintech products. We work closely with internal clients who provide banking, acquiring, and electronic money services. Our team values collaboration, technical excellence, and a results-driven approach.

We're seeking an experienced Go engineer to join our team and contribute significantly to our payment gateway product. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to influence and mentor team members through knowledge and experience rather than formal authority.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in Go development with a strong focus on backend systems and around 5 years of experience in working with fintech applications
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and API design, REST/RPC transports
• Extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, message brokers (Kafka, NATS), and caching systems
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools, ideally GitLab
• Proven ability to mentor and influence team members through expertise and collaboration
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working in horizontal team structures and comfort with shared decision-making processes
• Fluency in both written and spoken English and Russian

• Experience with AWS cloud platform
• Good knowledge of security best practices in financial applications
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the fintech space (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR)
• Experience with performance optimization and high-availability systems

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable solutions for our payment gateway and related fintech products using Go
• Collaborate closely with internal clients to understand strategic directions and translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Provide technical mentorship to team members, fostering growth and capability development across the team
• Champion best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation
• Contribute to architectural decisions, ensuring scalability, security, and performance of our systems
• Actively participate in and often lead technical discussions, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and collective decision-making

Additional Information :

Salary: 70 000-90 000 EUR gross annually.
