As an experienced Web Backend Developer, you’ll dive into optimizing crucial parts of our website. While you know your way around PHP, your real superpower is setting up and maintaining microservices in TypeScript. Plus, you'll be enhancing internal tools, making sure your colleagues have everything they need to deliver top-notch service to our customers.

How do I become a Web Backend Developer at Coolblue?

At Coolblue, you'll be part of a tight-knit, multicultural team of 3-7 developers, taking on the role of an experienced Web Backend Developer. Working in an agile environment, you and your team own the end-to-end development of specific website features and the microservices behind them. You’ll regularly brainstorm with Customer Journey Specialists and UX/UI Designers to build solutions that wow our customers. Your day-to-day includes diving into pull requests, doing code reviews, and pairing up with teammates to deliver clean, efficient code.

You enjoy doing this

  • Writing TypeScript code.
  • Writing automated tests such as Unit tests, Integration tests or End-to-End tests.
  • Working in a cloud environment with AWS Services such as Lambda, SNS + SQS, DynamoDB, S3 and Cloudfront.
  • Solving problems by using diligent best practices and principles, such as SOLID and design patterns.
  • Working in Microservice architectures.

You recognize yourself in the following

  • 3+ years of experience with TypeScript. Experience with Node.js and pure/vanilla PHP is a plus.
  • You have a BSc or MSc, for example in Informatics.
  • Ready to boost your tech and soft skills, while mentoring colleagues to help them grow.
  • You know how to automate recurring tasks and implement them seamlessly into CI/CD systems.
