Our client, an Iberian investment bank, is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join their team in Lisbon. In this role, you’ll be the 1st line of defence, helping to protect the bank’s information systems and ensuring that the security policies and strategies defined by the 2nd line of defence are properly implemented.


Key Responsibilities

  • Security Controls: Help set up and manage security tools like firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), antivirus, and endpoint protection, following the security policies defined by the second line of defence.
  • Monitoring & Response: Monitor systems for security alerts, respond to minor incidents, and report serious issues to senior team members.
  • Vulnerability Management: Support tasks like vulnerability scans and penetration tests. Apply software updates and help fix security issues identified by the second line.
  • Access Management: Manage access to key systems and keep track of users with special or high-level permissions.
  • Training & Awareness: Help organise and deliver basic security training sessions for staff, tailored to different teams.
  • Security Projects: Make sure that new projects follow security rules. Assist in checking system setups and technical designs.
  • Documentation: Keep clear records of incidents, risks, and any security issues. Maintain up-to-date documentation on security tools and controls.
  • Business Continuity: Help put in place and test backup and recovery plans (BCP/DRP), and record the results for review.


What You Bring

  • Qualifications: A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer or Systems Engineering, or a related field. Certifications in Cybersecurity or Security Management are a plus.
  • Experience: Knowledge of firewalls (CheckPoint), IDS/IPS, DLP, antivirus, and endpoint protection tools.
  • Languages: Native Portuguese is a must, advanced proficiency in English, and Spanish is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Proactive, and team-oriented, with strong planning, communication, and negotiation skills.
