The Role:

You will be part of an IP SDN Designer team working within a Tier-1 Telco Operator responsible to define, design, develop and implement Automation Use Cases (UCs) for Telco & Networking domains. You will collaborate directly with the Network & OSS Design, Planning and Engineering teams to define, design, and test UCs and to work towards their implementation, validate the solution in Lab and then deploy in the Production environment. This position requires strong Software development skills (Python), and deep Telco & Network technical background on IP/MPLS Services and Protocols. The candidate will take care of designing, customizing, and testing the SDN architecture of the different Transport Networks (IP/MPLS routers) and how they integrate with the OSS APIs. The candidate will have to define, design and evaluate the available SDN-alike management interfaces (i.e., YANG models) to accommodate the current Transport Network Management use cases and the necessary North Bound Interfaces (NBI) towards the OSS APIs and South Bound Interface (SBI) towards IP network devices NEs with Open Config and vendor models.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for designing, building, implementing, and deploying UCs for automating the lifecycle of IP/MPLS services within a Tier-1 Telco network.
• Contributing to automation initiatives and activities within an application platform involving multiple cross-functional teams.
• Developing and performing deep dive code reviews and enhancing the quality of SDN Use Cases, Test Plan, Tees Cases artifacts.

Skills and Experience:

• Deep knowledge of SDN and NFV architectures.
• At least 3+ years of proven software development for Telecom & Networking applications for automating life cycle of services in Transport Network technologies, i.e. IP/MPLS.
• At least 3+ of proven experience with IP/MPLS networks.
• Good understanding of IP/MPLS and other L2&L3 technologies OSPF, BGP-LS, Traffic-Engineering, PCE, OpenFlow and networking (CCNA, CCNP, or NRS-I/II is a plus)
• Strong or Intermediate Python development and scripting, hands-on experience.
• Hands-on experience with automation-like tools, Cisco NSO, Nokia NSP.
• Knowledge of Software-Defined Networking (SDN), IP/MPLS architectures and technologies is a must.
• Knowledge of pair programming, TDD, Shifting-Left, introducing BDD, use of CI/CD, DevOps.
• Familiar with main network vendors (Nokia, Huawei, Cisco, Juniper, ZTE, ADV etc.) in network engineering projects.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of other Telco & Network technologies is a plus.
• Knowledge of OSS tools and NBI/SBI interfaces is a plus.
• Experience with virtualization environments (KVM, VMware or OpenStack) is a plus.
• Previous engagements with standardizing entities as IETF and TIP MUST is a plus.
• Good communication skills to be the main technical point of contact with customer and customer´s vendors.
• Able to lead a technical team in a CDCT engagement to Go-Live SDN Use Cases in lab environment and actual networks.
• Teamwork and able to be integrated in customer team.
• English language skills in speaking and writing are mandatory, Spanish is mandatory.

Qualifications required:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication or equivalent) or related field.
• Hands-on programming skills and proficiency with programming languages: Python.
• Excellent level of understanding of networking concepts (CCNA, CCNP or equivalent is desirable).
• Good communication skills, proactive and a team player.
• English language skills in speaking and writing.
