The Opportunity

Presight is seeking an innovative, creative, and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain advanced software applications. You will play a key technical role in sustaining and optimizing the backend infrastructure that powers cutting-edge next-gen analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain the backend infrastructure to support next-gen analytics solutions using modern software design standards and methodologies.
• Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions by working closely with cross-functional teams.
• Continuously enhance performance, security, and reliability of backend systems.
• Creatively address technical challenges to maintain a robust and adaptable infrastructure.
• Create and communicate design views balancing both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Model or simulate proposed software behaviors to ensure stakeholder approval and support effective construction.
• Design, code, verify, test, document, amend, and refactor complex programs/scripts and integration services.
• Define and prioritize requirements for small-scale changes; assist with larger initiatives.
• Apply appropriate techniques to elicit, document, and manage detailed software requirements.
• Select suitable development approaches (predictive/plan-driven or adaptive/agile).
• Design test cases and scripts, record outcomes clearly.
• Develop and maintain specialist knowledge in databases, data warehouse concepts, architecture, and tools.
• Optimize solutions for user experience, speed, scalability, and technical feasibility.
• Participate in architecture discussions to understand overall product architecture and functionality.
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
• Comply with QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment), Business Continuity, Information Security, Privacy, Risk, and Compliance Management policies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–5 years of experience in Backend Engineering with strong computer science fundamentals.
• 4–5 years of experience with Agile development methodologies in AI services or analytics industries.
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies, such as Apache Spark and distributed storage systems (Hadoop ecosystem).
• Expertise in managing analytical workloads at scale with ClickHouse databases.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Docker (mandatory).

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• JavaScript

• Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
