Data Scientist

Data Scientist | Freelance | Ghent, Belgium (Hybrid)

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with high-dimensional, high-content biological data, particularly large-scale image datasets. You will play a key role in exploring complex datasets, identifying molecular effects on biological processes, and enhancing system performance through data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and interpret large-scale, high-content image data
• Use Python and big data tools to mine and explore complex datasets
• Develop methods to identify molecular impacts on biological systems
• Collaborate with domain experts to translate findings into actionable insights
• Drive data exploration and research to improve test system performance

Requirements:

• Proven experience with high-dimensional data and biological imaging
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Familiarity with big data frameworks and tools
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research-driven environment
