We are currently partnering with a Dundalk based client who is actively recruiting for a Junior Cyber Security & Infrastructure Engineer.
Responsibilities:
1. Carry out all cyber security, infrastructure engineering and related issues including but not limited to:
· System Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network systems
- Monitor system performance and ensure optimal operation
- Manage user accounts and permissions
· Network Management:
- Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issuesEnsure network security through firewalls, VPN’s and other security measures
· Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to end users for hardware, software, and network issues
- Resolve technical problems either remotely or on-site
- Document support processes and resolutions
· Security:
- Implement and maintain security protocols to protect data and systems
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Stay updated with the latest security threats and mitigation techniques
· Backup and Recovery:
- Develop and implement data backup and recovery plans
- Ensure regular backups are performed and data integrity is maintained
- Manage disaster recovery plans and procedures
· Project Management:
- Plan and manage IT projects, including upgrades and new implementations
- Coordinate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide solutions
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
· Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, configurations, procedures, and changes.
- Create user manuals and technical documentation for IT processes
· Accreditation:
- Accreditation can be obtained through various professional organisations, educational institutions, and certification bodies
· Onboarding:
- Internal onboarding and new starter set up
2. Carry out duties in such a manner as to comply with the Health & Safety Policy of the company, including:
- Taking reasonable care for your own safety & that of others
- Arriving for work free from any intoxicant
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment where applicable
- Not engaging in improper conduct or behaviour
- Reporting known defects
- Not intentionally or recklessly interfering with or misuse equipment
- Participating in health & safety training provided
3. Assist with on-the-job training and development of staff as required
4. Take appropriate action to maintain or improve relationships with all customers
5. You are required to use your best endeavours to promote the best interests of the Company and abide by the rules, policies and procedures of the Company
Requirement:
- Basic Knowledge of Networking and IT Infrastructure
- Familiarity with Cyber Security Concepts
- Experience with Operating Systems (Linux/Windows)
- Basic Scripting or Automation Skills
