The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Secretariat General (SG) - Group Strategy Department (GS) - Planning, Budget and Analytics Division (PBA), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE
Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1st September/October 2025)

Objective of the traineeship
The Group Strategy Department coordinates EIB Group strategy, oversees operational planning, and manages performance analysis and reporting. The analytics team is seeking a trainee with a keen interest in data analytics and digital solutions.
As a trainee, you will play a key role in supporting the next phase of the roll-out of a digital performance management dashboard designed to enhance operational planning, monitoring, and reporting across the Group. The dashboard is deployed via SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and integrates a multi-dimensional data model with predictive analytics capabilities. Data is sourced directly from the EIB Group's data warehouse, ensuring seamless accessibility.
In this traineeship, you will report to the Head of the Planning, Budget, and Analytics Division, collaborating closely with a dynamic and supportive team of professionals.
Responsibilities
As a member of our team, you will assist with the development of our performance management and reporting digital dashboard to enable better informed, and data driven strategic decision making. Your tasks will include:
- Designing new SAP Analytics (SAC) dashboards.
- Enhancing the digital dashboard by optimising design, process review and automation; for example by exploring new models and data points.
- Exploring opportunities to expand SAC functionalities, with a focus on leveraging the tool using AI capabilities.
- Documenting processes and procedures.
- Creating user-friendly training materials for users and data analysts.
- Introducing the dashboard to diverse teams across the EIB Group.
- Final year of studies or University degree preferably in Data / Computer science, Management engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related disciplines.
- Solid IT skills and expertise of standard office tools (MS office).
- Knowledge of reporting and data visualisation tools; exposure to SAP solutions is an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
