LAN/WAN Engineer

Work Schedule:

• 4 days on, 2 days off, covering weekends and public holidays.
• Work hours: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

Roles summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated LAN/WAN Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network infrastructure. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance and security of the organization's LAN/WAN environment, utilizing a range of industry-leading technologies such as Cisco, Fortinet, HPE Aruba, and more. This position requires someone with a deep understanding of network engineering, troubleshooting, and a passion for managing and optimizing network solutions in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and support LAN/WAN infrastructure including Cisco switching and routing technologies.
• Implement, manage, and support Fortinet firewalls and FortiManager for centralized firewall management.
• Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot HPE Aruba solutions, with expertise in Aruba Central.
• Manage and support VeloCloud SD-WAN and VeloCloud Orchestrator for network optimization.
• Monitor network traffic and performance using SolarWinds and LogicMonitor, ensuring the availability, performance, and scalability of the network.
• Utilize Cisco Telemetry Broker to ensure proper telemetry and logging within the network.
• Manage and configure Infoblox for DDI (DNS, DHCP, and IP address management).
• Work closely with other IT teams to ensure smooth operation and integration of networking systems with enterprise applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, topologies, and system performance.
• Stay current with new technologies and advancements in networking and security, providing recommendations for improvements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a LAN/WAN Engineer, Network Engineer, or in a similar network infrastructure role.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco switching and routing technologies (including but not limited to Catalyst, Nexus, and ISR platforms).
• Solid experience with Fortinet firewalls and FortiManager, including configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Expertise in HPE Aruba solutions and Aruba Central for network management.
• Experience with VeloCloud SD-WAN and VeloCloud Orchestrator to optimize branch and cloud connectivity.
• Proficient in monitoring and performance management using SolarWinds and LogicMonitor.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Telemetry Broker to manage network telemetry and monitoring.
• Familiarity with Infoblox for DDI (DNS, DHCP, and IP address management) solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, and VPN technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across different teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Associate/Professional), Fortinet NSE, Aruba ACMP/ACSP, and other network-related certifications are highly desirable.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with cloud networking solutions, particularly in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments.
• Familiarity with network automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible) to streamline and optimize network tasks.
• Knowledge of network security best practices and experience with VPN solutions, firewall policies, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Experience with network performance optimization tools and techniques.
• Familiarity with SDN (Software-Defined Networking) and NFV (Network Functions Virtualization) technologies.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise environments with global network infrastructure.
