The Opportunity: Network Security Engineer (Implementation & Support)

This is an exciting role for a motivated individual eager to kickstart their career in network security. Based in our Dubai office, you’ll support our senior engineers in implementing and maintaining network security solutions while serving as a key point of contact for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Implementation: Support in deploying and configuring network security solutions, including Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, Cisco ASA/FTD), VPN gateways, and IDS/IPS, both on-site and remotely.

Customer Technical Support (L1/L2): Act as the point of contact for clients, providing timely and professional support via phone, email, or ticketing systems, adhering to SLAs.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve common network and security device issues, escalating complex problems with clear documentation.

Monitoring & Escalation: Monitor network security dashboards for threats or performance issues, analyzing alerts and escalating critical incidents per protocol.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, security solutions, implementations, support procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Learning & Development: Proactively learn network security concepts, vendor technologies, and best practices under the guidance of senior team members.

Required Qualifications:

Networking Fundamentals: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, subnetting, and basic routing principles.

Security Principles Awareness: Familiarity with the CIA triad, common cyber threats, and tools like firewalls, VPNs, and EDR/antivirus software.

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field preferred. Equivalent Diploma or IT/Networking certifications with demonstrated knowledge also considered.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written English skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

Learning Aptitude & Attitude: Strong desire to learn, proactive mindset, and ability to work collaboratively under mentorship.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):

Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, Fortinet NSE 1-3, Palo Alto PCCET, or Check Point CCSA.

Customer Service Experience: Prior IT helpdesk or technical support experience.

Scripting Basics: Exposure to Python or Bash scripting.

Cloud Awareness: Basic knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
