Security Architect (cybersecurity)

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise IT security architecture. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in safeguarding digital assets, aligning security practices with organizational goals, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and continuously enhance enterprise-level security architecture aligned with business objectives and emerging threat landscapes.
  • Design, implement, and maintain security frameworks, standards, and controls across applications, data, and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects and project teams to embed security into IT solutions, systems development, and architectural planning.
  • Conduct security assessments, penetration testing, and compliance audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Drive Identity and Access Management (IAM) strategy to support secure access, authentication, and authorization aligned with organizational policies.
  • Monitor industry trends, threat intelligence, and evolving regulatory requirements to proactively adjust security strategy.
  • Partner with the Information Security and Risk Management teams to enhance the organization’s security posture and incident response capabilities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT security architecture, information security, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of security architecture frameworks (e.g., SABSA, TOGAF, NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), network security, and application security.
  • Proven expertise in IAM, encryption, firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention, and vulnerability management.
  • Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CISSP, CISM, TOGAF, SABSA, CEH).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
