Cloud SRE (Site Reliability Engineer)


2 days a week onsite in Bristol

Up to £105,000 depending on experience

One of SR2’s standout clients is on the lookout for a skilled Cloud SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) to join their growing team as you work on one of the group’s state of the art products – running on the Google Cloud Platform. This product will support this FinTech’s next generation of offerings – from 2025 and beyond!


Why they are hiring: This role has opened up as a result of continued growth within the engineering team, creating the need for this role. You’ll be an active and leading member of a cloud-focussed team of super talented engineers working with the teams within the business to influence and drive the adoption of SRE best practices and ways of working specifically within microservices. You will ideally be from an engineering background – this is a through and through engineering focussed role where you will keep close to getting your hands down and dirty!


Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with the infrastructure team to ensure resilience and scalability across the main platform.
  • With an engineering mentality, you will resolve and investigate service issues via code changes and implementing improvements to prevent the same re-occurring issues.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform). Implement further automation and reduce toil utilising cloud tooling.
  • Champion DevOps culture across the engineering team, improving workflows and reducing manual processes.


Technologies & Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Experience with GCP products (or another cloud platform such as Azure or AWS) and both cloud security and networking.
  • Strong DevOps understanding – IaC, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform and Jenkins
  • Building Kubernetes clusters in a production environment and experience in automating/scripting.
  • Understand and write code in multiple languages such as Python, Java, Golang, BASH and PowerShell.
  • Experience in monitoring SLO’s, SLI’s and SLA’s a logging updates and altering where appropriate.
