A day in the life of a Backend Engineer

• Develop and maintain robust, scalable and high-performance backend services using Java on ING Containerized Hosting Platform (IBM OpenShift).
• Interact with and manipulate databases to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval and management.
• Collaborate with the Frontend and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of features.
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimize applications (Incident Management).
• Follow the company's risk and security guidelines, ensuring that all solutions meet internal compliance requirements.
• Provide the necessary evidence and documentation to demonstrate compliance with internal policies and standards.
• Continuously learn and adopt new technologies to enhance system performance and reliability.

We are open to hiring candidates who have completed at least 4 years of academic studies in IT-related fields, including recent graduates who are eager to learn and grow in the backend development space.
