Sweden · Full-time · Not Applicable

Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future? If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match. Volvo Electromobility develops electric propulsion systems and components—such as batteries, electric motors, and charging solutions—for trucks, buses, and construction equipment. We are now looking for new colleagues to join the Function Design group within the Electric Propulsion Management System (EPSM) section.

Who are we?

The EPSM section is responsible for embedded software development, including release and integration, which bridges the electric management system with the mechanical propulsion system. This involves the design, implementation, verification, and quality assurance of advanced traction voltage and propulsion functions for electric vehicles. Our team includes Senior Embedded Software Engineers and Function Owners who take a holistic approach to balancing feature development with hardware constraints.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will contribute to the system design team with a focus on internal communication networks. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing toolchains and processes for updating and maintaining communication networks.
  • Supporting the configuration of signaling and communication systems.
  • Coordinating network updates with a forward-looking approach.
  • Ensuring quality through process adherence and continuous improvement.
  • Securing system reliability by enforcing standards and optimizing network bus load.
  • Addressing diverse product needs using platform-based solutions that ensure long-term maintainability.

Qualifications

  • MSc in Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience in automotive embedded systems development.
  • Proficiency in software development and scripting (e.g., Python).
  • Hands-on experience with CAN communication system configuration.
  • Strong holistic thinking, communication, and networking skills.
  • A collaborative team player
