AI/ML Software Engineer

The team is currently seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to help develop scalable, production-ready solutions for document understanding, natural language processing, and applied AI.

Company is headquartered in the UAE and operates in the GMT+4 timezone. UAE-based candidates are encouraged to work in a hybrid model and international candidates can work on a remote basis.

We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer with deep experience in OCR, NLP, and document layout analysis to build and deploy high-performance models that can operate at scale. You’ll be working on real-world challenges like named entity recognition (NER), document parsing, text summarization, classification, and normalization, using modern frameworks such as PyTorch and Hugging Face. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across the full ML lifecycle and collaborating with cross-functional teams to turn models into impactful production systems.

• Design, implement, and maintain machine learning models for OCR, Document Layout Analysis, NER, Text Summarization, Classification, and Normalization.
• Utilize frameworks like PyTorch, Hugging Face, and BeRT to build production-grade systems.
• Develop scalable, efficient NLP solutions including sentiment analysis, text classification, and applications involving large language models (LLMs).
• Apply advanced Python programming and leverage vector databases and vector extensions in PostgreSQL for data optimization.
• Conduct Document Layout Analysis, especially for structured data extraction from PDFs.
• Determine appropriate ML approaches (e.g., fine-tuning, from-scratch training, rule-based methods) based on project goals.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate ML components into broader systems aligned with business needs.
• Optimize models for accuracy, performance, and scalability in high-volume environments.
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and security best practices.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in applied machine learning, with a focus on OCR, NLP, NER, and text classification.
• Deep proficiency in PyTorch, Hugging Face, and related tools; strong knowledge of BeRT-based models.
• Experience working with LLMs, sentiment analysis, and text classification projects.
• Strong Python development skills and familiarity with vector search technologies (PostgreSQL extensions or dedicated vector databases).
• Experience building production-ready systems involving document parsing and layout analysis, especially with PDFs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical insights clearly.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a distributed team in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.
