We seek a Senior Data Engineer to tackle large-scale challenges and create meaningful impact together.

Responsibilities

  • Gather system requirements and design scalable, maintainable data pipelines and integration solutions using technologies like AWS/Azure, Python, and SQL.
  • Build and maintain data models, warehouses, and marts to support business intelligence and analytics.
  • Maintain impeccable data quality, integrity, and security across the data lifecycle, following stringent clean code principles.
  • Create top-notch, well-documented software that meets project specifications and adheres to clean coding standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of data engineering methodologies at Nortal through seminars, supervision, and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in testing, troubleshooting, and system documentation, ensuring smooth deployment and client satisfaction.
  • Supervise junior data engineers and provide code reviews to maintain the highest standards.
  • Assist in developing technical solutions for sales proposals and participate in client discussions, helping to align Nortal’s offerings with customer needs.
  • Keep abreast of the latest technologies, frameworks, and best practices in the dynamic field of data engineering.


Qualifications

What you will need to succeed:

  • Proven experience in designing and maintaining robust, end-to-end data processes (data quality, testing, and orchestration).
  • Strong coding skills in one or more languages (Python, Java, Scala) and the ability to write scalable, maintainable code.
  • Expertise in big data technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and orchestration tools like Airflow.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab) and cloud infrastructure management tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate complex technical solutions to clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to learning, problem-solving, and innovation, with a strong willingness to embrace new challenges.
  • Professional fluency in English.


Bonus Points

  • Experience with machine learning algorithms in a production environment.
  • Understanding of data security and governance.
