Java Full stack developer

Twenty8 is seeking an experienced Fullstack Developer to support a European Institution in Brussels.

We are looking for a skilled professional to join our dynamic team working on a cutting-edge AI-driven project. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java, messaging systems such as Kafka, and database technologies like PostgreSQL or Oracle. Familiarity with Compass Corporate (EC Platform) is a significant plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable fullstack solutions for AI-based applications
• Build robust backend systems using Java and integrate with real-time data pipelines using Kafka
• Develop APIs and microservices to support AI modules and frontend interfaces
• Design and maintain relational databases (PostgreSQL or Oracle) ensuring performance and security
• Collaborate with data scientists and AI engineers to integrate machine learning models
• Contribute to frontend development and ensure seamless integration with backend components
• Participate in architectural discussions and code reviews
• Write clean, maintainable code and comprehensive technical documentation

Requirements

✅ Education: University degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.

✅ Experience: Minimum 7 years of fullstack development experience with a strong focus on Java-based backend systems.

✅ Language Skills: C1 level of English (spoken and written).

✅ Solid experience with Kafka for event streaming and real-time data processing

✅ Proficiency in working with PostgreSQL and/or Oracle databases

✅ Understanding of frontend technologies (e.g., JavaScript frameworks) is a plus

✅ Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines

✅ Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills

✅ Ability to work in an agile and collaborative team environment
