Freelance .NET Developer with Azure Experience – Antwerp (Hybrid/On-site)

Project Overview:

We are seeking an experienced freelance .NET Developer with strong Microsoft Azure expertise to support a critical digital transformation project for our client based in Antwerp, Belgium. The project involves modernizing legacy applications and migrating to a scalable cloud-based architecture.

Key Details:

• Location: Antwerp (on-site presence required 2–3 days/week)
• Duration: 6 months (with possible extension)
• Start Date: [Insert Start Date]
• Engagement Type: Freelance / Independent contractor
• Language Requirements: English (Dutch is a plus)

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and optimize scalable applications using .NET Core / .NET 6+.
• Design and implement Azure cloud services (App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Key Vault, etc.).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver robust solutions.
• Support CI/CD implementation using Azure DevOps.
• Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing.
• Migrate existing .NET Framework applications to modern .NET and Azure infrastructure.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

Technical Skills Required:

• Strong experience with .NET Core / .NET 6+
• Solid Azure expertise: App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure SQL, ARM templates/Bicep, etc.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps (CI/CD pipelines, repos, boards)
• Proficiency in C#, REST APIs, Entity Framework Core
• Familiar with Docker, Kubernetes (AKS is a plus)
• Experience with front-end technologies (Angular/React) is a bonus

Ideal Profile:

• 5+ years of .NET development experience
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Azure cloud projects
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative agile environment
• Based in or willing to commute to Antwerp regularly
