Job Description:

A Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer is responsible for the smooth and reliable operation of an organization's network infrastructure. They monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain network systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime. This involves identifying, resolving, and escalating network issues, as well as collaborating with other IT teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitoring and Analysis:

Continuously monitor network performance, analyze data, and identify potential problems.

Troubleshooting and Resolution:

Diagnose and resolve network issues, escalating problems to higher-level support when necessary.

Incident Management:

Handle and document network incidents, ensuring timely resolution and communication.

Capacity Planning:

Contribute to capacity planning and design to ensure network infrastructure meets current and future needs.

Performance Optimization:

Identify areas for network performance improvement and implement solutions to enhance network reliability and efficiency.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work with other IT teams (e.g., security, application support) to resolve complex issues and ensure network integrity.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

Document network configurations, incident resolutions, and lessons learned to create a knowledge base.

Compliance and Security:

Ensure that the network infrastructure meets security and regulatory requirements.

Technical Expertise:

Maintain a strong understanding of networking technologies, protocols, and tools.

Proactive Maintenance:

Perform regular maintenance tasks on network devices to prevent outages and ensure optimal performance.
