Cloud Software EngineerThe Opportunity

Changing the world through digital experiences is what Adobe’s all about. We give everyone—from emerging artists to global brands—everything they need to design and deliver exceptional digital experiences.

Join the Adobe Cloud Platform and Collaboration (ACPC) team and enable workflows for creative professionals around the world.

ACPC is the cloud platform for many Adobe products, including Photoshop, Express, InDesign, Illustrator, XD, the Document Cloud, and many more, powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS). As a member of a multifunctional, self-organizing development team you will design, develop, deploy, and maintain large-scale, high-performance microservices.

"You build it, you run it!".

We are looking for self-directed and team-oriented colleagues. This position requires a balanced dose of initiative and flexibility in a very dynamic environment. You will be working with multiple agile teams located in Hamburg, as well as collaborate with development teams in the USA and India. In addition, you will engage in internal and external communities of interest to drive learning and cross-team standards.

Your Responsibilities

  • Together with your multi-functional team you are responsible for microservices you build from design to operation
  • Evolve our platform
  • Set a high standard of quality, robustness, and security in code and the development process
  • Follow the highest security standards and development principles
  • Participate in a culture of continuous learning
  • Work with Adobe internal client teams that integrate with ACPC

Your Skills

  • Deep understanding of distributed and scalable cloud systems, ideally on AWS.
  • Excellent programming skills. Our main language is Java.
  • Passionate about teamwork, self-organization and continuous improvement
  • Proficiency in English, good knowledge or ability to learn German

Additional skills which would be great

  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience in building RESTful web service based on the Spring framework.
  • Comprehension of NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Cassandra operating with extreme scale and reliability requirements
  • A soft spot for monitoring, alerting and analysis using tools like Splunk, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana
  • Mastery in scripting languages for automation, analysis, and data engineering.

Excellence

We value candidates with an impressive CV, but equally meaningful to us is your ability to learn new technologies quickly, integrate into a team as an equal footing, and take ownership of issues regardless of explicit roles.

Benefits

At Adobe, you will be immersed in an exceptional work environment that has been recognized on Best Companies lists around the world. You will also be surrounded by colleagues who are committed to helping each other grow. In Hamburg, we enjoy working in our fantastic office at the Hamburg Fish Market overlooking the harbor, but you can also work from home.
