DevOps Engineer - Junior

For our client from the telecommunications industry in Freiburg, we are looking for a dynamic, motivated and open-minded DevOps Engineer

With the new service «Billing & Analytics 2.0», our client provides their customers with an easy-to-use application.

The Service is characterised in part by the following key features and functionalities:

- 360° view of cost and usage data, with the option for individual evaluation (e.g. by cost type or usage behavior)

- Online administration of invoices and billing options

- View all invoice documents

- Product-specific analyses and functions

Your tasks:

• Designing, developing and operating effective and innovative functionalities for a customer- and agent- facing B2B billing system
• Developing and refactoring complex parts for the backend of the system with Java, Spring Boot and OPA
• Implementing user-friendly frontend elements with React
• Refining and optimizing database queries to enhance the overall system performance
• Conducting code reviews, ensuring that the team's output is of high quality and aligned with the overall technical objectives
• Performing deployment and releasing activities as well as monitoring and managing system errors
• Taking responsibility for high system availability also outside office hours as part of the on-call service

Your profile:

• Bachelor's Degree in Informatics or equivalent education
• Any additional courses and certifications in-line with the described tasks and/or skills are a plus
• Baseline software engineering skills: git with PR-based workflow, CI/CD practices, SCRUM/SAFE agile notions
• Strong Java programming experience, including Spring/Spring Boot and Maven
• Strong SQL and relational database design experience, ideally with PostgreSQL
• Experience with containers (Docker) for application packaging
• Experience with system design and architecture
• High-level English skills (C1) are mandatory
• Skills in French and/or German are a non-neglectable plus
