We’re seeking an Amazon Connect DevOps Engineer to join a high-impact project team tasked with designing and deploying a scalable, cloud-native Amazon Connect solution within a complex airline environment. This role demands a pragmatic engineer with real-world experience building Amazon Connect from the ground up — not just maintaining it, but spinning up new environments, ensuring infrastructure-as-code best practices, and enabling seamless cloud operations.

You’ll operate at the sharp end of AWS deployment, working closely with infrastructure and application teams to deliver an enterprise-grade solution that will underpin a major transformation in our client’s contact centre ecosystem.

Required skills: 

• Proven hands-on experience spinning up Amazon Connect environments from scratch – not merely managing or tweaking existing setups


• Deep understanding of Amazon Connect architecture, including contact flows, queues, routing profiles and AWS telephony configuration


• Strong experience across AWS core services, particularly Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, DynamoDB, SNS/SQS and API Gateway


• Solid grasp of DevOps principles – automation, CI/CD, observability and environment management


• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) – CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK


• Previous exposure to complex enterprise environments, ideally within the airline industry or another regulated, customer-facing sector


• Ability to operate in a project delivery environment, working within timelines, managing stakeholder expectations and adapting to shifting requirements

 Key responsibilities & duties include:  

• Architect, configure and deploy Amazon Connect environments from scratch, including telephony, user profiles, flows, routing, and integrations


• Develop infrastructure-as-code using tools like CloudFormation, CDK or Terraform to automate environment provisioning and ensure repeatability


• Enable seamless integration of Amazon Connect with upstream and downstream systems (CRM, ticketing, IVR systems etc.)


• Implement CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging and alerting for Amazon Connect and supporting AWS services


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams as part of a broader delivery project – including PMs, BAs, Solutions Architects and Airline SME stakeholders


• Adhere to AWS best practices and client security policies, ensuring compliance and operational integrity


• Diagnose and resolve issues across the environment – from Lambda errors to call flow misrouting – and proactively identify opportunities for performance improvement


• Produce and maintain clear documentation for deployment processes, configurations and support handover

Desirable skills: 

• AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect Associate or DevOps Engineer Professional)


• Experience integrating Amazon Connect with third-party CRM or customer engagement platforms


• Familiarity with airline industry use cases – e.g., flight disruption communications, loyalty programme support, or global call routing


• Knowledge of secure architecture practices and working within ISO27001 or similar compliance frameworks
