Norges Bank Investment Management is seeking an ambitious team-player for the Equity Enhanced Indexing (EEI) department, part of the Market Strategies investment area.
EEI is a friendly and collaborative team, responsible for the management of the fund's global, diversified equity portfolios. We use a wide range of strategies to enhance the return and risk/reward in our portfolios. We mainly focus on quantitative approaches based on relative value and systematic strategies, rather than fundamental analysis of individual companies. Managing risk against a dynamic benchmark, and reduction of trade cost are also essential components. There will be a strong focus on results and feedback.
The position is based in Oslo, and will report to the Global Co-Heads of Equity Enhanced Indexing. Travel will be required.
Duties And Responsibilities
What you will do
Collaboration is crucial, as you will be working as part of our European team of 4-5 portfolio managers, and also be interacting with portfolio managers from other regional investment teams globally. Other close collaborators include traders, developers and analysts from across the organization, assisting with market execution, creation of tailored systems/data, and operational aspects such as corporate actions and tax matters.

Duties And Responsibilities
What you will do
Collaboration is crucial, as you will be working as part of our European team of 4-5 portfolio managers, and also be interacting with portfolio managers from other regional investment teams globally. Other close collaborators include traders, developers and analysts from across the organization, assisting with market execution, creation of tailored systems/data, and operational aspects such as corporate actions and tax matters.
Your tasks will include:
- Create excess return using a broad range of index enhancement strategies.
- Monitor both aggregate and stock-specific investment parameters over time.
- Combine market knowledge with both quantitative and qualitative portfolio construction techniques.
- Develop trade programs combining risk management, cost reduction and outperformance potential.
- Handle daily portfolio management tasks, including in-/outflows, transitions, index changes, corporate action elections and equity capital market events.
- Analyse market opportunities and contribute to the department-wide research agenda.
- Refine investment strategies using a wide range of techniques for data analysis.
- Contribute to the team dialogue, investment discussions, feedback and meetings.
What You Need
- A strong interest in capital markets and investments.
- Outstanding analytical- and decision-making skills.
- Comprehensive educational background in finance and data analytics.
- Proficiency with databases (preferably Snowflake) and programming (preferably Python).
- Outstanding communication and teamworking skills.
- You have up to 3 years of relevant working experience, combining finance and tech.
- You can combine high-level efficiency with thoughtful attention to detail.
- You are intellectually curious, and creative in data analysis, artificial intelligence, automation and visualization.
- You have a strong track record of excellence, both individually and in teams, with a high level of integrity. You have an appreciation for giving and receiving constructive feedback.
