Director, Customer Engineering

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Customer Engineering to lead our technical customer engagement efforts. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise and a passion for customer success. You will lead a team of skilled engineers, drive global customer interactions, and ensure seamless integration and adoption of our cutting-edge sensor and embedded system technologies—especially in LiDAR-based solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and scale the Customer Engineering team, ensuring best-in-class technical support and customer success
• Serve as the primary technical interface for key customer accounts, building strong relationships and ensuring high satisfaction
• Provide hands-on technical guidance and troubleshooting support to customers during integration and deployment
• Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, and R&D to represent the voice of the customer and influence product direction
• Define and implement processes and tools that streamline customer onboarding and support
• Build and manage a high-performing, geographically distributed team of applications and systems engineers
• Engage with international customers and manage support activities across multiple time zones
• Travel as needed to support customer engagements, product demos, and trade shows
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in applications engineering, systems engineering, or other customer-facing technical roles
• Prior experience with LiDAR, sensor technologies, or embedded systems is highly desirable
• Proven track record in building and leading high-performing technical teams, preferably in a startup or remote-office environment
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interface confidently and effectively with customers and stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to resolving complex technical challenges
• Experience working with international customers and managing support across global time zones
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or a related field
• Experience with automotive, robotics, or industrial automation industries
• Familiarity with customer success metrics and CRM tools
• Multilingual abilities or international work experience is a plus
