G.James Support Services designs, manufactures, finishes, fabricates and sells a wide range of products to Australian and export markets from our state of the art Manufacturing Facility located in Eagle Farm.

Based at Eagle Farm, G. James Support Services is seeking a Product Designer to support a wide range of designs and production drawings.

The Role

• Product Design & Innovation: Develop innovative, functional, and visually appealing window and door designs that align with market needs and G.James's strategic objectives.
• Technical Development: Use CAD and design tools to create detailed drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and performance requirements.
• Engineering Integration: Apply principles of industrial design and engineering to create practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable products, optimising for materials, production methods, and efficiency.
• Prototyping & Testing: Support prototype creation, participate in performance testing (AS2047, acoustics, security, energy, etc.), and implement design improvements based on results.
• Collaboration & Support: Work closely with the Product Manager, engineering team, and Product & Testing Coordinator to execute the product roadmap and maintain accurate design documentation.
  
  

The Applicant

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills, knowledge, and attributes:

• Advanced CAD skills (AutoCAD, Inventor, 3DS Max), 3D modelling, technical drawing, and strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
• Understands technical concepts, can collaborate across teams, and documents design decisions for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to build strong internal relationships, shares knowledge, support team goals, and considers the broader impact of design decisions.
• Can handle multiple projects, prioritise effectively, solve complex design issues, and make informed, practical decisions.
