The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Network Engineer (Data Centre) Professional to join our on-site team in Stockholm.
This role is crucial for supporting our hosted PMS applications and data centre infrastructure.
You will work closely with our existing IT Systems Engineer, providing essential expertise and support for ongoing projects and daily operations.
We are looking for a candidate who can quickly integrate into the team, contribute to key projects, and demonstrate the potential for long-term growth within the company.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Support:
- Assist in the management and maintenance of our VMware cluster, which hosts customer-accessed PMS applications via Parallels.
- Participate in the implementation and integration of new storage solutions: a primary storage and two backup storages (one located in a colocation approximately 5km from our office).
- Assist in bringing a new HPE 5720 Switching Stack online.
Project Execution:
- Work closely with our Team Lead to execute infrastructure projects, ensuring minimal service interruptions.
- Contribute to planning and execution of any necessary planned downtime.
Collaboration:
- Work closely and collaboratively, providing technical expertise and support.
- Communicate effectively with other team members and stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience
Technical Expertise:
- Proven experience as an IT Systems Professional or similar role, ideally within a data centre environment.
- Strong knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies.
- Experience with Parallels (or similar remote application delivery solutions).
- Experience with implementing and managing storage solutions.
- Hands-on experience with HPE switching equipment (specifically HPE 5720 preferred) or at least strong Cisco, Juniper or Arista strong experience.
- Solid understanding of networking principles and protocols.
Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
Bonus Points
- Experience with data centre infrastructure management.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware VCP, CompTIA Network+, etc.).
