We are looking for a Lead Data Scientist to join a company offering IoT products in the building automation and HVAC industries. Offering a suite of SaaS products for process control, analytics and automation of commercial buildings is in use in almost 2500 properties in Norway.


We are seeking an experienced Data Science Team Lead to join our team the Trondheim. In this role, you will lead our data science team and drive the successful transition of data science innovations into production environments for our industrial IoT platform.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, providing technical guidance and career development
  • Bridge the gap between research and production, ensuring data science models are properly operationalised
  • Design and implement machine learning pipelines for anomaly detection and predictive maintenance
  • Work with knowledge graphs and ontologies to enhance our building automation intelligence
  • Develop strategies for leveraging LLMs within our industrial applications
  • Collaborate with backend teams to integrate data science solutions into our cloud infrastructure
  • Establish best practices for model deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
  • Drive innovation in applying AI/ML to building automation and energy optimisation


Skills & Experience:

  • Strong leadership experience within data science teams
  • Expert-level Python programming with ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience deploying ML models to production environments
  • Deep understanding of time series analysis and anomaly detection
  • Experience with knowledge graphs, ontologies, and semantic technologies
  • Experience with large language models and their practical applications
  • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and Kubernetes
  • Understanding of MLOps practices and tools
  • Background in industrial IoT or building automation is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts
  • Fluent English required, Norwegian is a plus


  • Experience with QEMU, Go, or Python
  • Familiarity with backend services and RESTful APIs
