Senior Developer (Fullstack)

This role focuses on scaling up our business by building complex best-in-class tools and applications that improve our financial reporting and processes, both for internal and external consumption. The work will be high-risk, high-impact and help drive the future of the business.

You will be working in a small team of three developers, required to participate and guide all aspects of the SDLC. Everyone in the team is an equal and we focus on delivering high quality solutions for the business.

While everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses the ideal candidate will be able to contribute in any capacity, i.e. front end, back end, database design, architecture, peer code reviews, security best practices etc.. We tackle anything that comes up (even less savoury items like VBA/Excel Automation/Google Sheets) - whatever it takes to improve our processes and help make decisions faster and better.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is a strong developer and a good collaborator who stands up for what they believe in, but also willing to concede to others when it is better for the whole. You must also be a quick learner as our scope and domain is constantly changing to align with current business needs.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end development of software systems from architecture and design through development to deployments and maintenance.
• Experiment with and evaluate new technologies. Front-end & back-end development and architecture.
• Implementing appropriate testing methodologies based on the project risk levels.
• Work with senior business leads to interpret requests & business needs and develop reports to help guide decision making.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• 10+ years developing websites and web applications.
• Experience with .NET core framework or similar.
• Experience with modern HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
• Experience with build tools such as Webpack/Grunt.
• Experience with API integrations (REST) and API testing tools.
• Experience with database systems such MS SQL Server, BigQuery and advanced SQL queries.
• Applied knowledge of web and mobile development best practices.
• Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Understanding of programming fundamentals and development process and strategies (ie: SDLC, software development models, database systems, TDD, unit tests, domain driven design, etc.).
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.Team oriented and strong interpersonal skills.
