Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (Back End Leaning) | Hybrid – San Jose, CA

Berkley Hunt is supporting a Series C start up, mission-driven technology venture focused on leveraging advanced machine learning and data science to drive innovation. With established teams in the Bay Area, they’re scaling rapidly and hiring a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer to build the next generation of of AI from the ground up.

About the Role

This is a high-impact, cross-functional role ideal for engineers who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy building products from zero to one. You’ll work closely with ML researchers and experts to design and deliver a platform. Responsibilities:

• Build intuitive frontend tools to help customers visualize and analyze their clean energy usage.
• Develop backend infrastructure for pricing complex energy contracts based on ML forecasting.
• Collaborate with the machine learning team to integrate long-term forecasts into production systems.
• Design scalable data infrastructure to balance clean energy supply and customer demand.
• Contribute across the stack using Python, React, Postgres, BigQuery, Kubernetes, and GCP.
• Influence product direction by working directly with stakeholders across engineering and business teams.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in a high-growth or startup environment.
• Strong experience building fullstack applications from scratch, including frontend and backend work.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with React or similar frontend frameworks.
• Experience deploying scalable web applications on cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred).
• Comfortable working with relational databases and data warehouses.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams.
