Role: React Engineer w/Chatbot

Job Type: Contract - W2

Location : Chicago, IL (onsite)

Job description:

MUST have experience developing the UI for Chatbots.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain user-facing features for chatbot interactions using modern JavaScript frameworks (React preferred).

Design and implement responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces.

Integrate the frontend with chatbot platforms (e.g., Dialogflow, Microsoft Bot Framework, or Amazon Lex).

Collaborate with designers to translate Figma/Sketch prototypes into interactive components.

Ensure smooth real-time communication using WebSockets or similar technologies.

Optimize performance and responsiveness across browsers and devices.

Write clean, modular, and well-documented code following best practices.

Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging.

Work with QA teams to ensure functionality and quality of the chatbot experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in frontend/UI development.

Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript.

Strong experience with React.js and related libraries (Redux, Hooks, etc.).

Experience building chat-based or conversational UIs.

Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and WebSocket communication.

Familiarity with chatbot platforms and APIs (e.g., Dialogflow, Bot Framework).

Knowledge of responsive design, accessibility (WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility.

Basic understanding of version control (Git) and Agile workflows.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

Exposure to NLP/AI concepts and chatbot training flows.

Knowledge of real-time analytics or conversation tracking tools.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and CI/CD tools.
