Freelance .NET Developer (MES Solutions)

For a manufacturing customer in East Flanders, I am searching for a freelance .NET developer for an MES implementation project using Siemens Opcenter. You will create and implement business functionalities in .NET which will have a direct implication on factory operations.

The mission is expected to take 4-5 months, however they have a busy project book and if there is a good collaboration it is possible to work on several other missions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement business functionalities in .NET within the Siemens Opcenter framework.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ensure seamless integration of the MES with existing systems and workflows.
• Optimize application performance and maintain high-quality code standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during development and implementation phases.
• Document technical specifications and provide support for system testing and validation.

Profile

• Proven experience in .NET development (C#, ASP.NET, etc.) – the focus of the role is 90% backend with some frontend tasks in Mendix low-code.
• Exposure to system integration and data exchange between MES and ERP systems is useful.
• Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and operational workflows is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Experience in industrial automation or manufacturing environments is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with MES systems, preferably Siemens Opcenter, is an advantage but not mandatory
• Knowledge of SQL databases and query optimization.
