Location: SodaStream Australia – Knoxfield, Melbourne

Purpose of the position

Reporting to the Sales Director, this position is responsible for leading the digital strategy of the business, developing a clear e-commerce growth strategy in close collaboration with the commercial leadership team whilst owning the pure play & direct to consumer (DTC) channel acceleration.

Furthermore, a key deliverable will be to launch the ‘Subscription as a service’ and to build a ‘customer loyalty program’.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Digital Growth Strategy
  • Develop comprehensive digital acceleration strategy for SodaStream’s Pure Play eCommerce customers and DTC channels to drive revenue growth and expand market share.
  • Identify, prioritize, and lead digital initiatives that align with business goals, focusing on customer acquisition, retention, and improved customer experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Operations & Supply Chain) to ensure alignment on digital strategies and lead perfect execution of key projects.
  • Enhance the customer journey across digital platforms by implementing best practices in UX/UI, personalization, and product recommendations.
  • Key partner with global experts on e-commerce and DTC in the sector and global team leveraging best practices and work closely to pilot key projects making Australia a spearhead of the global digital transformation within SodaStreao Lead the agenda on first party data gathering working closely with key stakeholders within the wider PepsiCo organization and with key external stakeholders (customers, media house, etc)
  • Champion a test-and-learn approach, pilot new tactics and technologies, iterating based on results, and scaling successful strategies
  • Lead initiatives to optimize the DTC experience with a focus on loyalty, subscription, and refill models to increase long-term customer value.
  • Focused on the growth and management of the consumer data collection to gather first, second and third-party data to tailor and personalize our communication and optimize the consumer journey to acquisition & retention
  • Manage mailings and customer engagement campaigns to both keep the database up to date and to enrich the available data towards tailored consumer experience
  • Pure play & direct to consumer (DTC) channel acceleration
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Pure Play and DTC digital transformation efforts, coordinating across functions to ensure a cohesive digital strategy.
  • Champion a test-and-learn approach, pilot new tactics and technologies, iterating based on results, and scaling successful strategies
  • Lead initiatives to optimize the DTC experience with a focus on loyalty, subscription, and refill models to increase long-term customer value.
  • Focused on the growth and management of the consumer data collection to gather first, second and third-party data to tailor and personalize our communication and optimize the consumer journey to acquisition & retention
  • Manage mailings and customer engagement campaigns to both keep the database up to date and to enrich the available data towards tailored consumer experience
  • Manage P&L, including revenue growth and margin targets
  • Develop and manage DTC budgets
  • Lead digital merchandising, pricing and promotional strategies
  • Optimise consumer experience across digital and physical touchpoints
  • Oversee Ecom operations and fulfilment capabilities
  • Create and implement practical and effective customer acquisition and retention strategies
  • Secondary scope - Leading digital transformation across various grocery and other accounts
  • Work on digital transformation strategy for the current grocery accounts and B&M customers with a focus on outperforming the offline sales with key projects
  • Localize and implement playbooks for the perfect e-store for our grocery customers resulting into a strong online market share growth and smooth shopper XP

Work Standards

  • Is willing to work in an agile environment to contribute to the success of SodaStream in Australia.
  • Despite not having direct reports, this position leads the digital transformation through strong project management and mentoring key members of the leadership team and commercial team.
  • Collaborate in the international matrix e-comm organization: global and HQ Amazon and DTC leads + collaborating with e-comm management from other markets.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, eCommerce, Digital Media, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in digital transformation, eCommerce management, or digital marketing, ideally within consumer goods, retail, or a high-growth DTC environment.
  • Proven track record of driving digital growth in Pure Play eCommerce and/or DTC channels
  • Proven experience in working with Amazon, as 1P/vendor, as well as with other online channels/platforms
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing and eCommerce best practices and customer lifecycle management.
  • Experience with data analytics and reporting tools and ability to translate data into actionable insights
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of influencing and collaborating across all levels of the organization.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on innovation, adaptability, and a passion for delivering results.
