MySQL Developer Tools is the team behind well-known open source tools like MySQL Workbench, MySQL GUI Automator, Casmine C++ BDD testing framework and recently the MySQL Shell extension for Visual Studio code.

General Description:

The MySQL Developer Tools team is seeking a Preact/React/Typescript Developer to help us to realize our vision of a free and open source web-based MySQL and Oracle database tool, which integrates well with Visual Studio Code and provides advanced features for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and MySQL database management for beginners as well as advanced users. This is a 100% remote position.

Responsibilities:

• Produce clean, readable code with comments, by following the established team standards
• Closely work with documentation and QA teams to produce the best documentation and highest code and product quality
• Perform peer code reviews
• Identify opportunities for refactoring, abstraction & recombination of the code base
• Operate in a self-managed capacity

Required Qualifications:

• 3 years developing user interfaces using standard web technologies (HTML, CSS)
• Typescript, NodeJS, Preact/React, Jest and Git are your daily tools + languages
• You have a strong sense of good UI design
• You are a fast learner, quick to discover, learn & use frameworks, libraries
• You are comfortable in design and architecture discussions
• You have strong communications skills
• You are a problem solver with a proactive attitude
• You are confident in Git, CI/CD tools, Gerrit, Jenkins, Worklog

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with MySQL and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
• BS or master degree, or equivalent experiences
• Familiarity with client/server technology and communication middleware
• Experiences with Usabilty, User experience, and UI design
• Experiences with UI accessibility
• Experiences with agile work principles (SCRUM or similar)
• Familiar/involved with open source projects (show us what you have published, e.g. on Github)
