To accommodate the growth of Nipro Nordics, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager in Sweden (Malmö) to join our R&D team in the dialysis sector.



About the role


You will be responsible for overseeing the development of dialysis projects from conception to completion, ensuring that all project goals are met within the specified timelines and budgets. In this role, you will report to the Head of Project Management.


What You’ll Do:

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation
  • Align project activities with overall organizational goals and business strategy
  • Ensure projects are executed according to plan and within budget


Project Management Oversight:

  • Manage dialysis projects through the entire lifecycle (from initiation to delivery)
  • Establish and enforce project management best practices, methodologies, tools, and standards
  • Define and track key project performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor project health and success


Stakeholder Communication:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, communicating progress, challenges, and opportunities
  • Facilitate transparent communication between project teams, R&D leadership, and other departments


Process Improvement:

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that lessons learned from completed projects are applied to future initiatives


Risk Management:

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across dialysis projects
  • Develop and implement risk management plans to address technical, operational, and organizational challenges
  • Maintain a proactive approach to resolving issues and maintaining the health of the project portfolio


Budget and Financial Oversight:

  • Develop and manage the budget for the projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness
  • Track and manage financials for each project, ensuring adherence to budget and identifying any deviations early
  • Provide strategic input on resource allocation to optimize cost and maximize value


What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management in the medical devices industry, in innovation and design and development projects. Experience with dialysis machine development is a plus
  • Mastering of the PMBoK methodology is a must
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Lean, Scrum…)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a track record of successfully influencing stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Experience working in an intercultural environment. A keen understanding of Japanese culture is a plus
